“Womanhood and Gender in Tagore’s Songs” is a visual and auditory treat with projection, live music, dance and discussion. This performance examines what it is to be a woman in the 19th and 20th century India. Song lyrics push the boundaries of the traditional roles of women, recognize gender fluidity, and address the issue of colorism.

With Maitreyee Chakraborty (vocal), Dipanwita Bhattacharyya (dance), Monami Roy (harmonium), Ayon Basumallik (keyboard), and Dhruva Acharya (percussion).
